Sheila & Bryan's Wedding: Sea Shell Inn, Falmouth
September 6, 2014:
I have had the pleasure of knowing the Regan family for two decades. Sheila and Bryan decided to have a wedding at her family owned Sea-Shell Inn. The whole day was filled with laughter! Two of my favorite guys, Sheila's brother's Sean & Mike served as her "men of honor"/ "brides men."
Boston's North End celebrates the Feast of Saint Anthony
August 31, 2014: For nearly 100 years Boston has celebrated the Feast of Saint Anthony. National Geographic has dubbed it the "Feast of all Feasts" and I can see why! I was able to follow various parts of the grand procession of Saint Anthony as he circled the neighborhood. It was a fun filled day with lots of good food, good cheer and community spirit! You can learn more about the four day festival from the official website.

November 6, 2013 Boston College Sunset:
I come from a family of Eagles! "For Boston" was a song I hummed along to listening to my father play as a former member of the BC Marching band. Childhood walks were often around this very reservoir! My parents met at Boston College in the 1970s, two aunts graduated from there around that same time. Prior to that my great-uncle and great-aunt attended Boston College and were the first in their family to attend college. My sister is a 2003 graduate and I graduated with my M.A in Irish Literature there in 2004. Countless friends old and new have fond memories up at The Heights. Tonight I was fortunate to have my Nikon with me as the sky turned to pink. What a beautiful sunset! I'm glad I didn't watch this one in my rearview mirror!
November 2, 2013: Boston Red Sox World Series Parade
What a spectacular day celebrating the Boston Red Sox and their remarkable season, but also a tremendous celebration of Boston. I began the day at Fenway Park and walked down to Mass General Hospital. While there, we saw doctors, police officers and some young heroic patients cheering on our Red Sox. A young heroic fan stood with a kind police officer outside the gate to ensure he could see the players as they came by. As Shane Victorino carried the World Series Trophy out of the duck boat, he made eye contact with this young fan and had them stop the duck boat. I think we were all touched by their effort to make this day special for this young hero. What a special moment and a fantastic team who understand what it means to be in a community. Thank you, Boston Red Sox! Your fan, Deirdre Rynne
Martha's Vineyard: October 20, 2013
I can't remember the first time I first visited Martha's Vineyard. My childhood memories are rich with sailing trips around the island, quiet anchorages, walking beaches, and varied scenery. In 2001, shortly after graduating from Hobart & William Smith Colleges, I took a job coaching sailing at Vineyard Haven Yacht Club. The pull of the island brought me back in 2006, this time to Edgartown Yacht Club where I coached sailing and ultimately served as Sailing Director at EYC for four summers. This island continues to captivate and charm me throughout the seasons. I am so fortunate to have made so many friends during my time on island. (And I am blessed to be able to stay with them during visits!) Like so many of my photos are born, I was pulled spontaneously down to Martha's Vineyard. I'm a lucky girl to have a friend in Chef Nicanor Garrido, who welcomed a late day visitor Saturday, loaned me his car and making these photos possible. The island is arguably at its best on fall days when it is still warm, but the summer crowds have left. I let my instinct serve as my compass and ended up at Moshup Beach in Aquinnah at Gay Head. Aware that there was a full moon, I zipped back to Oak Bluffs JUST in time on the other side of the island to catch it as it rose over Nantucket Sound. It was a breathtaking walk at dusk. I was nearly completely alone, but I was holding all my friends who are fighting hard battles close to my heart as I took in the scenery.
